  • Year 2: Political Science, Citizenship Education, Social Psychology, Research Methods in Social Studies, and Educational Technology.

  • Year 3: Environmental Studies, Cultural Studies, Sociology of Education, Economics of Development, and Teaching Practice Preparation.

  • Year 4: Curriculum Studies in Social Studies, Advanced Teaching Practice, Contemporary Social Issues, and Project/Dissertation in Social Studies.

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for admission into the B.Sc. (Ed.) Social Studies program, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • O’Level Requirements: Minimum of five (5) credit passes in subjects including English Language, Mathematics, History, Geography, and one Social Science subject.

  • JAMB Requirements: Minimum score as specified by the University in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

  • Direct Entry: Candidates with relevant National Diploma (ND) or equivalent qualifications may apply, subject to the University’s admission guidelines.

The program is competitive and seeks students who demonstrate intellectual curiosity, leadership potential, and a genuine passion for shaping society through education.
