B.Sc. Industrial Technology

The Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Industrial Technology at Alvan Ikoku Federal University of Education (AIFUED) is a dynamic program designed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical industrial application. This course equips students with the technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and innovative mindset required to thrive in modern industrial settings, ranging from manufacturing and engineering to technology-driven enterprises.

Course Structure

The B.Sc. Industrial Technology program is carefully structured to provide students with a solid foundation in core sciences, industrial practices, and specialized technology disciplines. Over the course of four to five years, students engage in a blend of theoretical studies, laboratory work, and practical industrial training.

Key areas of study include:

  • Engineering Principles – Understanding the mechanics, electronics, and processes behind industrial operations.

  • Material Science & Technology – Exploring materials, their properties, and applications in production and manufacturing.

  • Industrial Management – Techniques in production planning, quality control, and resource management.

  • Automation & Control Systems – Introducing students to modern technology, robotics, and automated industrial systems.

  • Research & Innovation Projects – Hands-on projects designed to enhance critical thinking and real-world problem-solving.

The program culminates in a Final Year Industrial Project, allowing students to apply their knowledge to real-life industrial challenges, preparing them for a seamless transition into the workforce or postgraduate studies.

Entry Requirements

Prospective students must meet the University’s admission criteria, including:

  • SSCE/WAEC/GCE: Minimum of five credits, including Mathematics, English Language, Physics, and one or two relevant science/technology subjects.

  • Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME): A satisfactory score in the UTME, with Alvan Ikoku Federal University of Education listed as the first choice.

  • Post-UTME Screening: Successful candidates must pass the University’s Post-UTME assessment and satisfy other regulatory requirements.
