Year 1

  • General Chemistry I & II (3 Credits Each): Foundations of inorganic, organic, and physical chemistry.
  • Introduction to Teaching Profession (2 Credits): Basics of education and the teacher’s role in society.
  • Mathematics for Chemists (2 Credits): Mathematical techniques relevant to chemistry.
  • Use of English I & II (2 Credits Each): Academic writing and communication skills.

Year 2

  • Organic Chemistry (3 Credits): Structure, properties, and reactions of organic compounds.

Entry Requirements

To apply for the Education Chemistry program, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  1. UTME Candidates:

    • Minimum of five O’level credits including English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology in not more than two sittings.
    • Acceptable score in the UTME with Chemistry as a core subject.
  2. Direct Entry Candidates:

    • At least two A’level passes in Chemistry and one other science subject (Biology, Physics, or Mathematics).
    • National Diploma (ND) or NCE in related fields with a minimum of Merit.
