Entry Requirements

To be considered for admission to the Department of Education Social Studies, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  1. Educational Qualifications:

    • A minimum of five (5) credits in relevant subjects at the Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) or its equivalent, including English Language, Mathematics, and at least three (3) subjects related to Social Studies (e.g., History, Geography, Economics, Government).
  2. UTME Requirements:

    • Applicants must have a satisfactory score in the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) exam, with subjects relevant to the course such as English Language, Government, and any other subject related to Social Studies.
  3. Direct Entry Requirements:

    • Candidates with a National Diploma (ND) or a Higher National Diploma (HND) in a relevant field may be considered for direct entry admission. They must meet the required grades for their qualifications.
