ALVAN IKOKU FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF EDUCATION GETS APPROVAL FOR 11 ADDITIONAL ACADEMIC PROGRAMMES
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Stella Ngozi Lemchi, on behalf of the Governing Council and University Management, is delighted to inform the public of the approval of 11 new academic programmes by the National Universities Commission [NUC].
This latest approval brings the University’s total undergraduate programmes to 56, giving prospective students a broader selection of high-quality courses to choose from.
The newly approved programmes will commence in the 2026/2027 academic session. They are:
1. B.A Theatre Arts
2. B.A Christian Religious Studies
3. B.A Music
4. B.A French
5. B.A (Ed.) Language and Communication Arts
6. B.Sc. (Ed.) Entrepreneurship Education
7. B.Sc. Geography
8. B.Sc. Public Health
9. B.Sc. Computer Science
10. B.Sc. Public Administration
11. B.Sc. Marketing
The University received official notification of the approval via a letter dated 20th April, 2026, signed by the NUC’s Director of Academic Programmes, on behalf of the Executive Secretary.
